Whether you’re just passing through Zalakaros or coming for a longer break, you can really recharge your batteries at the Thermal Camping. This beautiful wooded and green area fascinates travellers every time. And the surrounding parks and hiking trails are just as close as the city’s central pedestrian street, the event-packed Karos Korzó.
Zalakaros and its countryside is one of the most exciting regions of Hungary, with countless hidden treasures. The accommodation is also adjacent to a European-standard thermal spa, where you can indulge in a variety of wellness, beauty and spa services.
At our reception you can buy your spa ticket with a 10% discount, plus you can get in and out once a day. After lunch or a short siesta, you can continue relaxing in the pleasant thermal water.

Are you an adventure-seeking campervan traveller and sports enthusiast?
The caravan, motorhome lifestyle means different things to different people. If you’re coming from Europe, you could be a transit traveller looking for a quiet rest stop on a long journey, or a nature lover who prefers to explore the treasures of wild landscapes rather than the hustle and bustle.
Spring also brings sports enthusiasts outdoors. This is the ideal time for running, cycling, hiking or other outdoor activities. If you’re passionate about sport, you need a comfortable base to recover, recharge mentally and physically.
At Thermal Camping Zalakaros you will find a unique forest atmosphere, lush vegetation, a large shaded area, ping pong, football, badminton and firepits. A massage service is also available directly at the accommodation.
There are plenty of exciting hiking trails and Nordic walking or cycling experiences in the area. Just a few minutes from the campsite, you can rent a bike, e-bike, bicycle carriage, children’s trailer, tandem bike or walking sticks at the Bicycle Centre. And if you’re up for a really serious challenge, the Mapei Tour de Zalakaros, the most important cycling event of the year in the area, will take place between 21 and 22 June 2025.

And in the short term, everyone can feel refreshed and get away from the daily grind. You don’t even have to cook if you don’t want to. The Zalakaros Camping Restaurant is one of the best in the area, offering a wide range of dishes to choose from. Generous portions, Hungarian dishes, seafood, desserts and, of course, the little ones’ favourites are all on offer.
The secure enclosed area of the campsite gives the little ones the chance to run free at last. There is a great playground on-site, and in the neighbouring spa, you’ll find a huge children’s world, with over sixty water attractions waiting for you to explore.
Camping in a comfortable apartment? Yes!
Want a comfortable yet close-to-nature holiday? Did you know that at Thermal Camping you will also find modern, well-equipped apartments? You can sleep in a soft bed, yet still feel like you’re camping. A private kitchen, dining room, bathroom, and air conditioning ensure a relaxing stay. And classic camping moments are just a stone’s throw away. A picnic in the great outdoors, a self-indulgent badminton game, or simply a relaxing break in the spring sunshine.

1. Get the basic equipment ready!
- Choose a cool tent: Modern tents are comfortable and easy to pitch!
- Rent a caravan or motorhome, you can drive with a category B licence.
- Bring an extension cord with you: The (10A) power connection is included in the pitch price.
- Bring the cooking utensils: The campsite has a communal kitchen where you can prepare your favourites, whether it’s a breakfast of scrambled eggs with bacon or a light Mediterranean pasta lunch. Your barbecue equipment can also travel with you.
- Bring amenities: A picnic set, hammock, a few camping chairs and a row of LED lights can make the experience truly exclusive. A comfortable mattress is essential for camping!

2. Easily make a pre-booking!
- Tent pitch, caravan pitch, comfort pitch, or apartment – what do you need? At Thermal Camping, spacious 100 square meter pitches are available, all with electricity connections. Our comfort pitches have electricity, water and sewage connections. And our modern apartments offer home-like comfort.
- Price calculation or booking: You can book your accommodation with just a few clicks via our website. The price calculation will show you how much your chosen campsite or apartment will cost for the period and number of guests.

To make your holiday secure, finalise your booking by paying the deposit. You can pay for your accommodation by credit card or debit card. In a few moments, you’ll receive a confirmation email and the key to freedom is in your hand. Let the planning begin!
3. Take advantage of the low season!
- The camping season starts in the spring!This is when the weather is better for activities, there are no crowds at the attractions or the spa, but you can still enjoy a full holiday.
- Lower prices: In low season you can get your accommodation at a better price.
- The magic of nature awakening: The lush green foliage and flowers are in their full glory in spring and early summer. If you’re a nature lover who likes to explore wild landscapes, hike and spend active leisure time, this is the time to plan your trip.
4. Plan a varied programme!
- Sports and excursions: Hop on your bike and you’re ready to go on an adventure through lakes, hills and vineyards. The area’s nature trails and hiking spots are a real re-energising experience, whether you’re looking for a short walk or a full day of exploring.

- Local gastronomy: The flavours of Camping Restaurant Zalakaros are as much in keeping with the Mediterranean atmosphere of Zalakaros as they are with the traditions of Hungarian cuisine. As an added bonus, there’s the local farmers’ market, where you can find homemade flavors, pálinka, jams, and handcrafted products. And the Zala wine region with its fruity white wines, family cellars and hilly vineyards is a real experience for wine lovers.
